At Briggs & Mortimer we are recognised throughout the region as experts in all aspects of property - delivering a professional service tailored to the individual needs of our clients. Our passion, dedication and commitment to continue to be the foremost Estate Agent in the area, is supported by over 35 years of combined industry experience. The repeat business we enjoy and the high number of recommendations we receive, are testament to this exemplary service and a source of great pride within our team of property specialists.

For us, it’s not enough to have offices in an area – we believe in being part of the community whether it be helping local schools with some fundraising or taking part in one of the many events held in the region throughout the year. This involvement, apart from being great fun, gives us local knowledge so we know what it’s really like to live and work in this area, what each school has to offer and even where the best place for Sunday brunch is! When you buy or rent a new home, it’s not just about the bricks and mortar, it’s about lifestyle for you and your loved ones. We know this local knowledge, along with our professional approach, is what our clients value and what sets us apart.

Because we recognise our clients are as individual as the properties in our portfolio, we offer the choice of two services: High Street or OnLine (see ‘Our Services’ for full details) to get you moving – it’s your house move, so do it your way!

Come in and meet our team to discuss your next move...

Our Community

The increasingly sought after historic market town of Royston is located at the northern most point of Hertfordshire with a population of nearly 16,000. Getting its name from the wayside stone and cross erected during Norman times, Roisia Cross became the thriving market town of Royston in the 14th Century. The stone that formed the base of the cross now stands adjacent to the ancient crossroads at the northern end of the High Street just a few steps from the very famous Royston Cave with its mysterious wall art. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and quaint villages, it’s easy to forget that London’s Kings Cross lies just 38 minutes away by train from Royston with the A1M and M11 reached within 15 minutes and London Stanstead just a half an hour drive away.

In recent years Royston has seen a significant increase in people looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life – those looking for a traditional high street hosting an array of shops, bars and restaurants with good schools and amenities for families. With Cambridge being just 20 minutes away – there is a wealth of cultural and sporting activities across the whole region. The Annual Arts Festival in Royston is home to sell out workshops and well attended by known artists in drama, music and writing. The May Fayre is an opportunity for the whole town to gather in the Priory Gardens for a day of fun and entertainment and Royston in Blue at the end of June gives sports enthusiasts the chance to run over the vast expanse of Therfield Heath for a great cause.

It’s no surprise that the villages surrounding Royston are increasingly desirable too– offering a tranquil lifestyle within a true community coupled with close proximity to all amenities and great transport links. Who wouldn’t like the idea of a calming walk in the country just five minutes from their home or being able to grab a refreshing drink at their local pub without using the car? Add to that the convenience of a well-stocked shop within minutes of the doorstep and it’s easy to see the appeal of village life. Throw in the addition of some of the country’s best Sixth Form Colleges available both in Hertfordshire and Cambridge and it’s no wonder families are flocking to settle in Royston and the surrounding area.

Whether you’re ready to buy, sell or rent or just thinking about a move, we love sharing our passion for Royston and the villages, so pop in for a chat and see how we can help you get the lifestyle you want.

Move on up with Briggs & Mortimer.
